since 1909
Derby della Madonnina
Inter Milan × AC Milan
Why it matters
Same stadium, two founding stories: Milan for the local middle class, Inter formed by a breakaway that wanted foreign players. The city divides by curva, not by class alone.
One fact to know
The derby takes its name from the Madonnina statue on Milan cathedral, visible from the terraces.
