since 1903
Madrid Derby
Atlético Madrid × Real Madrid
Why it matters
The city split: the establishment club against the working-class side from the south. Atlético spent decades as the noisy neighbour — and turned the derby into a genuine contest again.
One fact to know
The two clubs share one city but not one stadium since 2017, when Atlético moved to the Metropolitano.
