A pitch must be 90–120 metres long and 45–90 metres wide for senior matches; internationals narrow that to 100–110 by 64–75. That flexibility is why some grounds suit pressing teams and others suit wide wingers. Goalposts are 7.32 metres apart and 2.44 metres high.
